Frank J. DeGennaro, Chief of Police

           Frank DeGennaro is presently the Chief of Police for the Oneida Indian Nation Police Department. He has been involved in Law Enforcement for the past 36 years. During his tenure with the New York State Police he served as a road trooper, Investigator in the Bureau of Criminal Investigation,  Zone Sergeant, Uniform Lieutenant, BCI Lieutenant in Troop Headquarters, BCI Lieutenant in the Community Narcotics Enforcement Team, and BCI Lieutenant in Internal Affairs. Upon promotion to Uniform Captain he was designated as the Zone Two Commander in Troop D, Syracuse, New York. On May 20th, 2004 he was promoted to the rank of Major and served as the Director of Traffic Services for New York State. On June 01st, 2006 Chief DeGennaro was reassigned to the position of Troop Commander of Troop D. As the Troop “D” Commander he was charged with oversight of State Police Uniform and BCI operations in Central New York which encompassed six counties.  At his retirement gathering Chief DeGennaro received special recognition from several agencies including the FBI,  Syracuse Police Department, Onondaga County Chiefs of Police Association,  New York State Fair, Syracuse Jewish Federation and the US Department of Justice. Chief DeGennaro lives in Oneida County and aspires to serve the Oneida Indian Nation with honor, integrity and distinction.
