Bureau of Investigation

A majority of the Bureau of Investigation’s caseload is involved with conducting background investigations for all levels of employment within the Nation enterprises, government administration and the casino complex.  These investigations include background investigations being designated as Class II or gaming related licensing backgrounds and associated fingerprinting.  In addition, the Bureau of Investigation conducts background investigations on potential Tribal Child Care Workers as required by the Department of the Interior, Bureau of Indian Affairs guidelines and regulations. This includes not only criminal record checks through the submission of fingerprints but also inquiries with the various states’ sex offender and child abuse registries.   As a result of a change in the vendor providing custodial services to the properties outside of the Casino the Bureau personnel have been assigned the task of performing background investigations of the vendor’s employees. In August 2009 the Diamond Explorer Card was offered to Casino patrons.

The Bureau of Investigation is also charged with providing dignitary protection during important and possible problematic events sponsored by the Nation or held at the casino resort complex.  These include coverage during boxing events, celebrity golf tournaments, major concerts as well as concerts and events held inside the Showroom and Events Center venue.

Two members of the Bureau of Investigation are certified examiners in the use and operation of the Computer Voice Stress Analyzer.  These members conduct tests as needed with regards to multiple criminal investigations for Nation related incidents and have been called upon from time to time and utilized by outside law enforcement officials to conduct examinations with their investigations.
